“Tico” Costa Rican Cuisine in Anaheim

Disneyland Hotel Map

Anaheim has a variety of Mexican and Spanish restaurants, but Costa Rican cuisine is something entirely different—and well worth tasting. There’s only one pure “Tico” restaurant in Anaheim, aptly named the Costa Rican Restaurant, and it’s where you’ll enjoy authentic dishes from Central America. Typical dishes include tamales, tacos ticos, picadillos, casados and tortas as well as imported drinks. These might sound like familiar dishes, and while many Latin cuisines share some similarities, there’s something about Tico cuisine that’s unique.

In Costa Rica, the rice is purple with the perfect balance of beans. The restaurant mimics the “soda” shops peppered throughout Costa Rica with warm, cozy, and inviting ambiance. Many nights, there’s live music and dancing where you can learn a few new moves and show off your salsa prowess. It’s the perfect outing for a family lunch, date night, or business meeting.

Most Popular Dishes

The Casado dish comes with beef and egg with white rice, black beans, and sweet fried plantains with a salad on the side. Try the gallo pinto con huevo with rice, beans, and eggs any types. The chicharrones con yuca frita or fried chunks of pork and grilled yuca are life-changing. You’ll also want to try the Tico-style tortas with rice, fries and a side salad.

From the sausage gallos served on a tortilla to the tortilla suave with tostada, every dish is a taste of paradise. Located at: 2500 W. Lincoln Avenue.
