Anaheim 5 de Mayo Festival

With a rich, thriving Mexican-American population, Anaheim is home to some of the biggest fiestas in the country. Over 100,000 people flock to the massive Cinco de Mayo festival during the holiday weekend, and one of the biggest hosts is Anaheim 5 de Mayo, a local non-profit committed to promoting Hispanic American activities.

The biggest party takes place at La Palma Park and now includes a carnival, stages featuring mariachi bands and folkloric dancers, and of course the space is seasoned with some of the best Mexican food trucks in Southern California. The party has remained a safe, alcohol-free family event for decades.

Party in the Park

The four-day event spans from May 3 – 6 this year. It’s where annual scholarships are announced, a popular soccer tournament takes place, and some of the best Mexican entertainment in the world performs. With 16 local soccer clubs fighting to become Fiesta Champion and competitions for dishing up the best fare getting hotter every year, it’s an event that you won’t want to miss.

This fiesta is conveniently close to Anaheim hotels. Keep an eye on the official calendar to see last-minute additions and plan your outing. Since parking can be tight with so many attendees coming to Anaheim, it’s best to take a taxi or ride share.
