Visit Christ Cathedral

Faith-driven and non-secular guests alike are welcome to the Christ Cathedral, a landmark in Anaheim and an architectural delight. Visitors can’t help but notice the stunning steeple, and the cultural icon is a destination for guests of all faiths. However, it shot to fame with former Rev. Robert Schuller’s “Hour of Power,” which was televised evangelization. However, in 2012 the Orange Diocese bought the church, along with all 34 acres, and committed to returning the site to its former glory as a hub of worship and wonder for all.

Today, the cathedral is a beacon for Catholics and still offers regular mass and services. However, it’s also open to all for tours. There’s a large collection of stunning buildings on campus encompassing nearly 320,000 square feet in total. Buildings include galleries, the arboretum, the Tower of Hope, Cathedral Cultural Center, Crean Tower and Diocese of the Orange Pastoral Center.

Hallowed Grounds

Visitors also flock to the site to enjoy the natural landscapes, a number of fountains and beautiful sculptures peppered throughout the grounds. Throughout the year, and especially heading into the holidays, there are a variety of cultural and arts events that take place. Thanksgiving weekend can be an especially popular time to visit the cathedral as the Christmas season is ushered in.

Self-guided and docent-led tours are available with 55 volunteers on site. Tours last up to 45 minutes, and private tours can be arranged by contacting the cathedral if you have 15+ guests. Mass is open to all with daily services. To find out more about upcoming events or to plan your visit, visit the cathedral’s official site.
