Pakistani Cuisine in Anaheim

Although the differences are often subtle, Pakistani cuisine is slightly different than many classic Indian dishes. In Anaheim, there are two restaurants explicitly serving Pakistani fare, and you’ll want to check them both out to see which is your favorite. Bismillah Halal Tandoori Restaurant is located at 8901 Knott Ave, Buena Park, just a short drive from your Anaheim hotel. Known for its namesake dish, there’s a rich variety of Pakistani options at this casual eatery.

Nihari, a Pakistani specialty, is a boneless beef dish that’s particularly spicy and hot. However, it’s the Bismillah special chicken, boneless and minced with spice and garbanzo beans, that’s a house favorite. Also try the Chapli Kebab, ground beef with herbs and spices, with some of the freshly made tandoori bread like minced garlic naan.

A Feast to Remember

Noorani Halal Restaurant at 14204 Brookhurst St, Garden Grove is tucked away into a strip mall, but don’t let the location fool you. The authentic menu features both Pakistani and Indian dishes. The “mix platter” is one of the most popular and offers a variety of sample items so you can try a little of everything. All meat is halal, and you’ll want to try the goat and lamb dishes handmade in house marinades.

The tandoori bread here is especially delicious, from the chili naan to the wheat rotis and butter (ghee)-smothered naan. Try the tandoori parathas for a flaky accompaniment to any dish.
