Limestone Canyon Preserve

Just a short drive from your Anaheim hotel is the stunning Limestone Canyon Preserve. It’s a must for outdoor lovers, birders, hikers, and photographers. Here, you’ll find lush woodlands peppered by streams. Oak trees provide plenty of shade and springs can be found year-round. Dubbed “the Sinks,” Limestone Canyon is often thought of as a small Grand Canyon.

The natural habitat is rich with a variety of animals and plants. There are docent-led programs available, which allow you access to roped-off habitats. However, all programs and access to Limestone Canyon is free.

Plan Your Visit

Every Tuesday morning at 7:30, a free guided hike of Limestone Canyon is offered. Explore paved Hicks Haul Road, where you can choose between a 3, 6, or 8 mile hike. The moderate speed of 3 – 3.5 miles per hour makes for a leisurely stroll suitable for most walkers and hikers. After-work hikes take place every Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Check the calendar for upcoming events and to sign up (although they are free, registration is required to keep numbers to a minimum). From the Bouncing Bats tour where you’ll have the best odds of seeing these flying mammals to Saturday cardio hikes, there’s something for everyone.
