Flamenco Teatro

Flamenco dinner shows every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at El Cid provide a flashy and romantic night out. This signature Spanish Flamenco Dinner Show offers incredible beauty and passion while patrons dine on gourmet cuisine. Flamenco as a spectacle is integral to Spain’s culture. The passion in the music and dance is sheer art, which means every show is unique.

Flamenco shows are $15 per person, and it’s best to book online in advance. Tickets are for the show only, and a full dinner menu is available à la carte. El Cid is an L.A. landmark and opened in 1925 as a speakeasy. El Cid began as Jail Café, part café and part underground bar with a quirky 1920s jail theme, including a watchtower, booths in jail cells, and waiters donning prison uniforms. Today, the 20s/30s Hot Jazz Night lets patrons partake of that crazy era.

The rafters, wooden dance floors, and many other original pieces still exist at El Cid’s. However, in 1932, it became a theater. For nearly 30 years it operated as the Gateway until it was turned into a supper club in the 1960s. It was then that flamenco dancing began alongside Spanish cuisine and cocktails.

El Cid is known for paella on the patio as well as an impressive vegetarian menu. However, popular menu items for Flamenco Night include patatas bravas, which are Spanish-style potato wedges with chorizo sauce, and ceviche with avocado. Try the paella indoors, and remember to always save room for flan.
