Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum

The Anaheim area is full of destinations for history buffs, and going a little off the grid will lead you to some incredible museum experiences. At the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, you’ll be treated to the brand new 2016 renovation including new galleries, archives and exhibits. The museum was closed for nearly a year as the staff organized the best, biggest and most comprehensive collections yet.

Start at the orientation theater where you’ll be introduced to the 50-year professional history of Nixon. The Wave of Change is an interactive model of landmark events as well as the people and events that shaped his presidency. Slip into a replica of the Oval Office during his administration, and get confronted with the Vietnam War—the same predicament Nixon faced.

History in the Making

In the Domestic Policy Vision exhibit, you’ll be faced with the “war on cancer,” environmental issues, relating to the youth of America, and civil rights concerns in southern schools. Explore communism and the Cold War, learn more about Pat Nixon, and discover what life in the White House was like during Nixon’s term.

The museum is open Monday – Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday from 11-5. Admission is just $16 for adults. For real history buffs, plan to spend a full day (or two!) perusing this impressive, re-designed museum.
