This part of the boutique is set up like a comfy space to grab one of the several books, sit in one of the built-in benches and just read or hang out. In the other corner of RARE, you can find old records and a record player, accompanied by simple and eclectic decorations, furniture, and trinkets that take you back to your childhood and make you feel at home.
This concept store inspires your unique style. Here you can shop for one-of-a-kind items you can’t find anywhere else. The best part about shopping at RARE is that all proceeds go back to the community. The sold items generate jobs through job placement and vocational and educational programs.
RARE is Goodwill’s latest experiment with unique alternative store concepts. Goodwill previously opened a boutique in Tustin that caters to designer lovers who want to avoid paying the total price. RARE is dedicated to a more hipster crowd, which makes sense as it tends to draw a younger and trendier audience.
A big theme in RARE is upcycling, which is also evident in the store’s decor, as much of the boutique’s decor is made of repurposed material. So the reclaimed natural wood accents, the globes reused as shelving ornaments, and the old TV fixtures will undoubtedly draw your eyes into the store.
